About
Chardogon is a copypasta-like text that describes what is apparently a Pokemon based original character derived from Charizard. The text is notable for its bombastic, overwrought (and quite possibly an application of Poe’s Law) description, background and list of “powers” and “defeated characters” that spans several hundred lines, similar to that of a Mary Sue. Originating from Pastebin, the text has spawned several derivatives with a certain pattern.

Origin
Whilst the general format of the text can be attributed to the Ultimate Kyurem Black text that is first seen on May 2, 2014, the first text that mentions Charizard as the base character was the charizard xy paste. Then around July, the character’s name progressively changed to Chardogon.

the origins of mega charizard xy
it started when the 2 most powerful charizards aka reds charizard and ash charizard decide to leave there trainers and explore the universe to find strong opponents. as they traveled around the universe they got stronger learning moves from characters from other universes. then one day ashs charizard met reds charizard and decided to battle. they were equal streangth and they both were exhausted when omega shenron appeared and attacked them. omega shenron proved to be too powerful and the charizards were heavily damamged. they thought that its over when ashs charizard suggested the potara earing fusion and reds charizard accepts putting on one of the potara earings on its left ear while ashs charizard put the other potara earing on the right ear and they mega evolved into there forms ashs charizard being the mega x form while reds charizard is the mega y form and they fused to create the most powerful charizard ever, mega charizard xy. they fought omega shenron and they had no problem beating him and they finished omega shenron off with the move hypernova thus saving the universe.
charizard xys travels and the items of power
charizard xy absorbs the dragon balls that omega shenron had in him after defeating omega shenron and charizard xy gained a huge amount of power. charizard xy decided to explore the universe finding items that raise its power. charizard xy found the fire flower and star along with the crystal stars and the 7 star spirits in the land of Mario after defeating Mario and the star fighters and absorbs the items becoming much more powerful than before and also absorbed the namekian dragonballs and the black star dragonballs becoming super strong. then he decides the fight the mane 6 from ponyville and defeats them absorbing the element of harmony. then he goes to Mobius and fights sonic, shadow, and there friends and defeats them absorbing the sol emeralds the master emerald the chaos emeralds and the 7 world rings becoming extremely powerful. then he absorbs the star rod and warp star after defeating Kirby, meta knight, and king dedede. charizard xy goes to the town where the sailor moon warriors live and defeats them absorbing there power dresses and sailor star. then he defeats aang, korra, and there allies and gains the abilitys of earthbending, firebending, waterbending, airbending, lightingbending, and bloodbending. then he finds Jackie chan and defeats him and gains the talasmends. charizard xy finds the 3 triforce pieces and absorbs them. the last thing he finds is the complete shikon jewel and absorbs it becoming ultimate mega charizard xy. he then finds every other powerup ever and absorbs them all and is now called perfect ultimate mega charizard xy
charizard xy and the multiverse tournament
charizard xy finds out about a tournament called the multiverse tournament where fighters everywhere on every universe to exist will enter with the winner gaining the title multiverse champion. charizard xy enters the tournament. a few hours later the tournament begins. charizard xys first opponent is ss4 broly from the dragon ball universe. charizard defeats broly in seconds with a supernova attack. charizards next opponent was aizen from the bleach universe. charizard defeats aizen with a final flash attack. the third opponent was crocodile from the one piece universe. charizard defeats crocodile with an inferno fire blast. the fourth opponent was darkrai from the pokemon universe. charizard defeats darkrai with a chaos blast. the fifth opponent is the wicked eraser from the yu-gi-oh universe. charizard defeats the wicked eraser with a flamethrower. the sixth opponent is galaxia from the sailor moon universe. charizard defeats galaxia with a rasangen. the 7th opponent is the nine tailed fox from the naruto universe. charizard defeats the nine tailed fox with a tailed beast bomber attack. the 8th opponent is perfect chaos from the sonic universe. charizard beats perfect chaos with a kamahamaha. the 9th opponent is bowser from the Mario universe. charizard beats bowser with a hydro cannon. the 10th opponent is ganondorf from the Zelda universe. charizard defeats ganondorf with a light arrow attack. the 11th opponent is dark samus from the Metroid universe. charizard beats dark samus with a light beam attack. the 12th opponent is andross from the star fox universe. charizard defeats andross with a blast burn. the 13th opponent is king k. rool from the donkey kong universe. charizard defeats king k. rool with a special beam cannon attack. the 14th opponent is joker from the batman universe. charizard defeats joker with a solarbeam. the 15th opponent is shredder from the tmnt universe. charizard defeats the shredder with a final shine attack. many rounds later with charizard defeating everyone that entered the tourmenent but one opponent the final round is announced. the final round is ultimate hyper super cyber mecha sonic from the ed edd n eddy z universe. mecha sonic uses his ultimate attack right away but his ultimate attack did nothing and was shocked. charizard then defeats mecha sonic with a universal spirit bomb and wins the tournament claiming the title multiverse champion. he is now considered to be the strongest fighter ever. charizard decides to go back home afterwords and sleeps in his home the charicific valley back in the kanto region in the pokemon universe.
the new threat
2 years later in the kanto region charizard was sleeping in his home when he senses a huge dark energy ki in the johto region. charizard flies over to johto to check where the energy is coming from and charizard finds super buu from the dragon ball universe there. super buu has absorbed everything from every universe and is super strong. the fight between super buu and charizard begins. super buu fires a special beam cannon at charizard and does very slight damage. charizard uses flamethrower and melts super buu into slime. super buu regenerations back to normal and fires a barrage of ki blast at charizard then fires a masengo at charizard doing some damage to charizard. charizard uses a x10 final shine kamahamaha on super buu. super buu takes serious damamge but regenerates back to normal. super buu gets mad at decides to try and end the fight with a dark spirit bomb.
charizard fires his universal spirit bomb at the dark spirit bomb and they get into an attack struggle. charizard fires a x10 final big bang shining galick dragon spirit kamahamaha at the attack and pushes the spirit bomb towards super buu. super buu regenerates back to normal but is super tired out. super buu fights charizard hand to hand combat. charizard attacks super buu with a barrage of dual chops while super buu attacks charizard with a barrage of dragon fists. both become tired out. charizard decides to end it with a final ultimate universal spirit bomb and fires it at super buu killing super buu and saving the universes from him forever and every good being ever is brought back to life. charizard goes back home and rest after a long tough and tiring battle against super buu. charizard sleeps and trains for many years in peace making sure he is ready for any threat that comes to the pokemon universe.
the fusions tournament
5 years later charizard finds out about the fusions tournament where fusions can enter to see who is the strongest fusion ever. since charizard is already a fusion of its x mega and its y mega he can enter the tournament. charizard enters the tournament. 2 days later the tournament begins. charizard fights through many opponents and defeats them all and goes to the final round. the opponent in the final round is super ss5g vogitoman a fusion of superman and super sayain 5 god vogito. vogitoman uses a xinfinty final big bang heat kamahamaha on charizard and an explosion happens. when the smoke clears everyone including vogitoman was shocked to see charizard still standing with no damage on charizard whatsoever. charizard fights vogitoman and uses flare blitz to severely damamge vogitoman. charizard finished vogitoman off with a flamethrower and wins the tournament. charizard has gained the title strongest fusion ever. charizard heads back home afterwords and trains up so that hes prepared for anything at all times.
charizards new power.
3 years later charizard has become super strong and was resting. charizard woke up one morning and has heard a rumor saying that if he absorbs all the other charizards ever he can become much stronger. charizard decides to test this theory out and he absorbs every charizard ever and he becomes super strong surpassing everyone and became the strongest thing ever. he became known as ultimate charizard. chraizard decides to train in other universes and learn many moves and become stronger. he wanted to be so strong that no villain can defeat him. charizard does this for 25 years in peace.
charizard vs drago
charizard meets drago 1 month after charizards training is done. charizard sees what drago has and he challenges drago to a battle and drago accepts. charizard beats drago with one supernova and gains the core that drago had and absorbs it becoming even more powerful than before and charizard evolves into ultimate final charizard, charizards final form. charizard now has no equal and is stronger than all. charizard decides to take a rest from training for 5 years to explore all universes.
charizards baby
5 years have past and charizard has come back home from his exploration around all universes. charizard soon finds out that he had a baby many years ago back at his home. charizard finds his baby which is still a charmander and decides to help train his charmander become as strong as he is. 10 years later charmander becomes a charizard that is alittle weaker than charizard xy. charizard xy decides to name his son axel. chaizard trains axel for 5 more years. after those 5 years have passed axel has become as strong as charizard xy. they decides to explore all universes together having fun and meeting new friends while defeating new enemies easily and they lived happily for many years to come.

A few months after the first text appeared, several derivatives of the original paste such as chardogon ultimate god, chardogon god and dark mecha chardogon started appearing all over Pastebin, particularly in the months of July and August. Whilst most of the derivatives are essentially the same text with a slightly different (but not less Mary Sue-ish) name attributed to the original character, some derivatives, such as the chardogon guardian of all universes and rainbows or Guardian Hydrocorodeurzard added more characters, attack powers, backstory which all adds to a laughable level of bombast. Another particular feature that is constantly edited is the “trained for x years gained powers” line in the end of the text.
Aside of common text derivatives, some RP text also ridicules the Mary Sue attributes of Chardogon, such as omega chardogon or Fluffy Being His Wonderful Intelligent Self.
