Trump Facts, usually referred to in its hashtag form #TrumpFacts, refers to a series of exaggerated and satirical tweets mocking the Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s islamophobic rhetorics regarding the prevalence of radicalized Islam in Great Britain.
Origin
On December 8th, 2015, Donald Trump called into the MSNBC show Morning Joe the day after making controversial statements about banning all Muslim people from America during a speech. During that interview, Trump claimed that there were sections of London so radicalized by ISIS / Daesh that local police officers were afraid to go there.[1]
After the video was placed online, many in Britain contested the point and began posting other “facts” in the style of the exaggeration they believed was being made under the already existing hashtag #TrumpFacts.[2]

In the three days following Trump’s statement, the hashtag #TrumpFacts was used over 35,000 times, according to Topsy Analytics.[3] The trend was written about by several major news publications, including the Huffington Post[4], the Independent[5], and CNN.[6]
