Towel (Real name Tyler) is the identity of an anonymous hacker. He is infamous for hacking YouTube and Twitter accounts, as well as uploading taunting videos to get reactions out of people.
Short History
Towel started on a standard Twitter account in 2008. It was not until 2015 that Towel made a name for himself. Throughout October and November, Towel hacked a few YouTube (and Twitter) accounts, including Markiplier, YourMovieSucks, Exinthevatican and Lyle McDouchebag.
Lyle McDouchebag Twitter hijack
On November 7, 2015, Towel hacked into Lyle McDouchebag’s Twitter account, and renamed to “Towel McDouchebag.”
As of November 8, Lyle has yet to regain control.
YMS hijack
Also during the same day, Towel managed to hack into YourMovieSucks’ Twitter.
As of November 8, YMS has yet to regain control.
Exinthevatican hijack
On November 4, 2015, Towel most notably hijacked streamer Joel Johansson of Vinesauce. Each day since the hijack, Towel has a released a video at a time, usually proclaiming his ownership of the channel, taunting Joel and the Vinesauce fanbase, as well as attempting to pin the blame on Youtuber tsBastrin.
On November 7 and 8, Towel released a goodbye video, which supposedly meant that Towel would leave the channel. The following day, Towel removed his Day 2 videos, and released a video of him deleting all of Joels videos.
As of November 8, Joel has still to regain control.
