About

The phrase “Let’s McFreaking Lose It!” originally came from a series of public-outburst, prankcam-esque Vines, the first of which was posted on February 1st 2015, by Matt Krath. Although the locations vary, the setup is usually the same, with a costumed Krath shouting wildly and usually being asked to leave the establishment.

Origin

The infamous origin vine features Krath, standing in a Ronald McDonald costume screaming “LET’S MCFREAKINGLOSE IT! GETOUT OF YO MIND!” at McDonalds patrons in Keller, TX. (All of the locations are in the central Texas area) Day 1 of the Vine series, shown here, has him in a much smaller McDonalds, pouring what appears to be an ICEE or soda over himself, and thrusting his pelvis.

Spread

Later on, Day 4 of the prank series was posted, yet another Ronald vine. Day 4 was an exception to the previous formula. (Posted on Feb 4, 2015) It is no longer set in a McDonalds, rather a Taco Bueno in North Richland Hills. It also does not feature the iconic phrase, however. Krath yells to the employees that “THISPLACE IS UNDERNEWMANAGEMENT! BADA DA DA DA! YOU’RE ALLFIRED!” as can be seen here.

The last “true” McFreaking Vine was posted on Feb 7, 2015 as the 7th and final prank vine. and features Kirth again in the Ronald suit standing on a table in an atrium area of Northeast Mall in Hurst, TX. In the center of a sizable crowd, he again shouts the iconic phrase, sans ICEE and thrusting.

The meme later made it’s way to Tumblr sometime around April 2015, where it began to circulate as a series of photo captions and text posts. The entire tag can be viewed here:

Although it is currently hard to locate any of the more popular posts from the high point of the phrase’s popularity.
Very little of it has been posted on Facebook and Twitter other than the original vines, suggesting Tumblr may have popularized it. (It can’t be confirmed for sure) Although, as of late interest in the meme has seemingly died out.

Recently, Ronald has been a less-occuring character in Krath’s Vines, although he recently appeared in a short vine in late April where he bursts through a set of doors and screams “I’M TAKINGOVERTHEMCFREAKINGWORLD! BADA BA BA BA!” and proceeds to slam his face into a fast food bag, miming ravenous eating noises. No further Vines containing the Ronald parody or the iconic meme have been posted.
