The first post with the phrase was made on June 24th, 2014 [2] soon after the announce of the album. It had been used extensively since then, including being used by people outside of 4chan such as Anthony Fantano[1], as well as major news sites such as Stereogum[3] and ConsequenceOfSound.[4]

Fashion Week is an instrumental album that was released by Death Grips in January. In the album, all the song titles were titled “Fashion Week” followed with a letter. When looked vertically, these letters spelled out “JENNYDEATHWHEN”.
