About
French Girls is a mobile application that allows users to upload selfies for other random users to draw an illustration of the photograph. The app is named after the memorable quote from the 1997 period drama film Titanic, in which the character Rose (played by Kate Winslet) tells her love interest “Draw me like one of your French girls”.
History
On March 23rd, 2013, the mobile software company APPEK released an iOS[4] app titled “French Girls,” which allows its anonymous users to draw sketch portraits of strangers and upload their own photos for others to draw.

Online Presence
On January 9th, 2014, the Fresh Girls App Tumblr[3] blog was launched, which highlights notable example drawings made with the application.
On July 7th, the Internet humor blog Smosh[1] highlighted 29 humorous illustrations created with the iPhone app (shown below). On March 1st, The Daily Dot[2] published an article about French Girls, referring to it as “the best selfie app.”
