This Is So Sad refers to posts made in parody of posts like 5ever in which a scene of dialogue dramatically results in a character committing suicide before the other character can finish their sentence. These posts began spreading on Reddit in early 2018. At the end of the posts, a line of text would read “This is so sad! Can we reach (X) likes?” The format was picked up in many Deep Fried Memes and shitposts.

200 IQ is a satirical reference to one’s intelligence when they are able to perform an impressive play while playing video games. The reference comes from a stream of League of Legends Twitch streamer Pobelter, who mentioned his “200 IQ” before performing an action.

Uma Musume Pretty Derby is an anime series and upcoming mobile game about a group of famous Japanese racehorses reborn as “horse girls,” who then train to be successful racers and idols.

Titans Leaked Photos Controversy refers to an online controversy regarding reactions toward behind-the-scenes photographs for the upcoming live-action superhero film Titans based on the Teen Titans animated series.

Japanese Foil Ball Challenge refers to a trend on YouTube in which people take balls of aluminum foil and through several steps and some extra materials turn it into a shiny sphere. Since spreading in Japan in March of 2018, the trend became popular among American YouTubers, with several videos of the challenge gaining millions of views.

Cardi B is an American rapper and television personality known for her appearance on TV’s Love & Hip-Hop: New York as well as her single “Bodak Yellow” and her popular debut album, Invasion of Privacy. She is candid about her past as a stripper and a member of the Bloods gang and has demonstrated knowledge about American presidents and is outspoken on political issues.

#FreeBlackCoffee is a hoax campaign orchestrated in late April 2018 by anonymous 4chan users, who circulated photoshopped Starbucks coupons falsely claiming to provide “1 free beverage” as an apology for the controversial arrest of two African Americans waiting at a coffee store in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

This Man Isn’t Black refers to a scene from the english dub of Dragon Ball Super in which a soldier is about to fire at Goku, mistaking him for the series’ antagonist Goku Black, before he’s stopped by Future Trunks who exclaims, “Hold your fire! This man isn’t Black!” Fans joked about the scene because out of context it sounds as though Future Trunks is telling the soldier not to fire because Goku is not of the black race.
