The film was originally planned to be produced in 2013 but because of low budget and also technology, it was delayed until it was officially announced for production in May 2016. According to the director’s press conference in March 2017:That’s right. Well, since the main characters are the two brothers, where there is Ed, there will always be Al. Even just based on that, the amount of CG used becomes enormous. In this work, I’m using a technology that was used in Hollywood movies such as The Avengers. We’re using a lot new techniques that were never used in Japanese movies before, I would like to boost Japan’s CG level with this movie." Since the original story consists of 27 volumes, I cut it down in to two hours, but we will stay faithful to the manga. I can’t tell you much details yet, but I think that you can guess what will be the main story based from the cast that was already announced. Since I’m a big fan of the original myself, I don’t plan to change the setting, the world view, and make a different story, so please don’t worry about that. Of course we will have the philosopher’s stone coming out [somewhere in the story].
On adapting the source material, Fumihiko Sori said, “I want to create a style that follows the original manga as much as possible. The cast is entirely Japanese, but the cultural background is Europe. However, it’s a style that doesn’t represent a specific race or country.” Regarding the faithfulness of the adaptation, which has characters of non-Japanese ethnicity, the director said, “There will never be a scene in which a character says something that would identify him/her as Japanese.”
Sori told Oricon he has a deep affection for the story that tells the “truth of living,” and said, “It is my dearest wish to turn this wonderful story into a film, and it is not an exaggeration to say that I am living for this reason.” He added that he “wants to create a wonderful film that uses techniques that challenge Hollywood,” and noted that nowadays Japanese filmmaking techniques have progressed greatly. It was announced that the film will make its Western debut on February 19 as a Netflix original.

The tweet received 6,283 Retweets and 20,492 Likes over the next week. On february 13th, @gullshreik clarified that you HAVE to mute the person after. Continuing to argue after showing the ketchup is pointless. It has since spread to comments on reddit, especially /r/Me_irl, although rarely to trolls. Instead, the ketchup is used as a way of stating how bad something is, similar to Delete This Nephew

Fergie’s National Anthem refers to a performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner” by pop singer Fergie at the 2018 NBA All-Star Game that was widely criticized and mocked for the singer’s bizarre interpretation of the song.
On February 18th, 2018, before the 2018 NBA All-Star Game at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, pop singer Fergie sang the American National Anthem. The arrangement of the piece and the singer’s vocal performance were subject of criticism and mockery afterwards.
During the performance, the camera cut to several NBA players struggling not to laugh. Twitter user and sports journalist Paige Dimakos tweeted a compilation of crowd and player reactions to the performance, with many NBA players and celebrities appearing stunned or attempting to stifle laughter (shown below).
The players reactions to Fergie are hilarious😂😂 pic.twitter.com/Hws0gYwz0a— Paige Dimakos (@The_SportsPaige) February 19, 2018
During the halftime show of the game, commentator and former player Charles Barkley joked about the performance, saying he needed a cigarette afterwards.Shaquille O’Neal, who was also on commentary for TNT, attempted to stifle jokes about the performance by saying “Fergie, I love you. It was different. It was sexy. I liked it. Leave her alone.”
Social media users immediately joked about the performance. Sportswriter Jemele Hill pointed to NBA player Draymond Green’s reaction, saying, “Draymond Green is all of us,” gaining 13,000 retweets and over 29,000 likes (shown below, left). NBA meme account @NBABeLike tweeted an image of Warriors player Klay Thompson with his ear bleeding, gaining 3,200 retweets and 9,500 likes (shown below, right).
News publications harshly criticized Fergie’s performance. Deadspin wrote of the performance in a piece titled “Words Cannot Begin To Describe The Horror Of Fergie’s All-Star Game National Anthem.” Rolling Stone called the performance “disastrous.” Forbes called it “terrible.” Deadspin obtained footage of Fergie rehearsing the piece beforehand, where she appears unsure about the arrangement. To TMZ, Fergie apologized, saying she attempted to take an artistic risk but her performance “clearly didn’t strike the right tone.”
Financially Stable refers to a copypasta popular on Twitter which reads “Happily married, financially stable, 750 credit score, and became a house owner at the age of 21. God is good🏡🙏🏻.” After the text was posted sincerely in August of 2017, people on Twitter parodied the tweet by posting the text with various humorous images.
On August 15th, 2017, Twitter user @Abbyyg37 posted the original text to Twitter with what are presumably images of her husband and new house. The tweet gained over 10,000 retweets and 53,000 likes (shown below).

The post (shown below) received more than 900 retweets and 6,400 likes in four days.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is an action role-playing game released for Microsoft Windows, Playstation 4 and Xbox One. It was directed by Daniel Vávra, developed by Warhorse Studio and published by Deep Silver. Though the game was generally favorably reviewed upon release, it was criticized for an abundance of bugs which were patched after release.
The game was an original idea by Daniel Vávra in 2009. After searching for investors for two years, a private investor funded a prototype of the game, leading to the creation of Warhorse Studios in 2011. After developing the prototype, the team failed to find international investors, leading them to take to Kickstarter on January 22nd, 2014 with the effort of generating 10% of their budget to prove their game had an audience. The Kickstarter gained 1.1 million Euro, over 800,00 Euro over their goal. On October 1st, 2014, Vávra announced the game had raised over $2 million. A beta version was released in March of 2015 for those who’d backed the Kickstarter. A trailer for the game was released on June 17th of that year (shown below, left). The final trailer for the game was released on February 1st, 2018 (shown below, right).
The game was released on February 13th, 2018. The game topped the Steam best-seller list on the day of release, and reportedly sold over 500,000 copies in its first two days. Many players noticed an abundance of bugs in the game, and a day-one patch of the game was 23 GB large. Some players did not receive the patches, leading to confusion as to what the most recent version of the game was. Warhorse Studios clarified the patches in a lengthy Reddit post.
The game was fairly well-received by critics, scoring a 75/100 on Metacritic. Critics praised the game’s ambition, comparing it to a hardcore version of an Elder Scrolls. However, many critics noted an abundance of bugs that hampered the playing experience.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance has developed a solid online presence. A subreddit for the game has gained over 31,000 readers. The game also has 78,000 likes on Facebook. On February 19th, 2018, Deep Silver tweeted a review of the game from Steam which underlined how difficult the game was, gaining 860 retweets and 3,400 likes (shown below).

Interview Possum refers to a photograph of Sand Mountain Sam, an opossum who serves a similar role to Sand Mountain, Alabama, as Punxsutawney Phil does to Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania and much of the United States in that it can supposedly predict the weather. The image comes from the ceremony for Sand Mountain Sam’s 2018 “prediction” for the remainder of winter and spread through Twitter as people added various captions to it.
Like Punxsutawney Phil, the famous groundhog who serves as the basis for Groundhog Day, Sand Mountain Sam is an animal associated with a superstition that if it sees his shadow on a certain day in February, it means six more weeks of winter in the Tennessee Valley area. At the 2018 ceremony for Sand Mountain Sam held February 2nd, 2018, Sam did not see his shadow, meaning an early spring in the area.
The day of the event, Facebook meme page Olivia’s O’meme Outlet posted the picture with the caption “Pineapple is stored on the pizza,” gaining 637 likes and reactions (shown below).
Don’t Worry, He Knows he is green text story written from the perspective of a teenage boy whose love interest, referred to as his “pseudo-girlfriend,” ends up sleeping with his older cousin.
On January 19th, 2013, an anonymous 4chan user posted a story claiming that a girl he knew “since kindergarten” who he had developed strong feelings for ended up sleeping with his older, married cousin. At the end of the story, the girl ends up passionately kissing his cousin in front of him, saying “Don’t worry, he knows.”

>One day he asks her why it doesn’t say I’m her boyfriend on facebook
>mfw when she says `Oh he’s more like my best friend than anything°
>seething anger when he says ‘Man you gotta lock that shit down bro. she’s banging
>Only really see this cousinfag once a week and she still sleeps over all the time so thinking whatever nothing will come of it
>I keep telling her he’s an asshole
>She agrees but tells me ‘you know me. I don’t even know how to be rude’

>Get in a fight again
>Don’t have time to make up before leaving for wedding

>think its basically over. have to find a new social life
>she calls me really late and comes over
>cries apologizing, says she has a really big problem saying no and will try to fix it
>forgive her and go to bed cuddling
>Really awkward with Eric and Dave the next time I see them
>Don’t really address it for a while but eventually we have an awkward apology talk since I’m clearly pissed
>She stops going to the cousinfags for a while
>Eventually starts going again
>"to repair all our broken friendships" she says
>Things slowly but surely evolve back to where they were
>I know I gotta put a stop to this
>Realize booze is really the main difference between my place and oldfags
>Start taking booze out of parents cabinet when we play halo at my place
>Didn’t really know what the fuck I was thinking since we still went to cousinfags as much as we used to
>Eventually parents find out
>My grades also been going down also
>Combination gets them megapissed
>Pseudo-gf can’t sleep over and I can’t go out for a week
>pseudo-gf and I fight over this can’t even remember why the fuck we did
>Get text couple of days later from cousinfag telling us he has the place to himself so to come over
>Try to sneak out but get caught
>Frantically try to call her but she’s still pissed, not picking up
>Next day still no contact, weekend so don’t see her at school
>freak the fuck out, basically having emotional breakdown
>see her at school when Monday finally fucking comes
>she avoids me all day
>she leaves before I can track her down afterschool
>text her a zillion times, tell her grounding is over and I really want to talk to her, if its over she can at least tell me
>find Eric and Dave, too freaked out to be subtle ask them what the fuck happened
>really flicking flicking awkward but basically tell me that they played strip halo again
>Eric quickly leaves but Dave tells me later that Eric and cousin fag were feeling her up while she was half passed out
>says hes sorry and he tried to stop it
>have no one else to be mad at so flip out at dave
>eventually she texts me back eventually saying ’you’re acting like there’s something to end’
>get this in front of dave and start crying, run away
>so flicking embarrassed to even remember this flicking shit
>thinking life is over
>she comes over that night, no text no call no nothing
>is sobbing at the door
>don’t even know how to be mad at her
>I tell her its okay, I heard what happened and I forgive you
>she just keeps crying and we go to bed
sorry I’m so slow. recanting is really affecting me
>middle of the night, she randomly says 1 love you’
>don’t even hesitate. say 1 love you to&
>1-no matter what’?" she says
>I say of course
>asking no matter what continues for a while
>eventually get bad feeling
>she tells me that she had no where to go once my parents didn’t let me have her over
>that she hated staying at her house and how I knew how much she hated her parents
>eventually admits she was telling oldfag this by text on her way home Friday night (when stripping happened)

Black Guy on the Phone

Wakanda Isn’t Real refers to a series of jokes and responses to the popularity of the Marvel superhero film Black Panther. Online, some people have taken issue with the popularity of the film and the fictional country of Wakanda, where the film is set, and respond to these complaints with the phrase “Wakanda isn’t real.” However, the phrase has also been used to mock that response and perceived hyperbolic response to a fantasy location.
On February 9th, 2018, conservative commentator Ben Shapiro responded to an editorial in the New York Times about Wakanda, the fictional country in the film Black Panther, on Twitter. During the show, he says, “Sorry to break it to you, folks, but Wakanda is not a real place.” Since being uploaded to YouTube, the video (shown below) has been viewed more than 260,000 times.
Following Shapiro’s rant, other conservative commentators joined Shapiro in responding to cultural and literary analysis of Wakanda with “Wakanda isn’t real.” On February 14th, Daily Caller journalist Ian Miles Cheong retweeted a piece from National Public Radio about the influnences for Wakana and responded with “Wakanda isn’t real, people.” The post (shown below, left) recevied more than 60 retweets and 360 likes in seven days.
On February 16th, the Hollywood Palms Cinema posted an apology to people who complained about their Black Panther posts. The apology made a joke of the outrage against the country and its technology. The post (shown below, center) received more than 5,900 retweets and 14,000 likes in five days.
Others, however, mocked Shapiro’s rant against the fictional country.
